Training

Classes and times

We train on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Monday and Wednesday take both beginners and experienced students from the age of 5 — and you do not have to start at any particular time of year. Friday and Sunday are for those who have come a bit further.

Tap a class to see who it is for, what it requires and what the training is like.

Children and families

Monday and Wednesday 16.30–17.30

The mon belt class for children of about 5–12, split into the Ninjas and the Eagles. New children start here, and parents can train alongside the Ninjas.

Adults

Monday and Wednesday 17.45–19.15

Basics training for kup and black belts: hand techniques, stances and kicks from the curriculum, plus self-defence, sparring and poomsae. New adults start here.

Instructor Toke (Monday)

Sparring

Friday 18.00–19.30

Speed, timing, tactics and sparring — also as competition preparation.

Instructor Theodor

Requirement At least 10 years old and 9th kup (yellow belt) — or special permission from the sparring instructor.

Self-training

Friday 18.00–19.30

Training without an instructor — you know what you want to practise, and how.

Requirement You must be able to train alone without help.

Technique

Sunday 11.00–12.30

Techniques and poomsae in depth — for technique competitions, and as a supplement to the basics training.

Requirement At least 10 years old and 9th kup (yellow belt) — or special permission from the technique instructor.

Mon, kup and dan are the club’s belt systems. Mon is for children of about 5–12, kup are the student grades from 10th to 1st kup, and dan is black belt and above. Read more under Belt gradings.

Practical

Before you turn up

There is no need to sign up in advance. Come in loose clothes — tracksuit bottoms and a T-shirt are fine — and train in bare feet. We train on mats, so you do not need indoor shoes.

If you would like to try, just turn up. If you have questions first, write to the club — see Contact.

Besides the fixed times we arrange extra sessions before gradings and competitions. You agree those with your instructor.

Cancellations, holiday closures and changed times are announced on the club’s Facebook page and here on the news page.
